3. DropForks - there's still room for improvement.
Share
Your car is already parked low with Dropbox, but there's still room at the front? Then it's time for Drøpd DropForks.
These specially developed lowering forks allow for an additional 25 mm of lowering on the front axle when stowed. This is achieved without compromising the driving dynamics in drive mode – ideal in combination with the drop box.
How does it work?
The forks replace the original lower shock mounts on the front axle and position the shock further down, resulting in more depth when stationary.
The handling remains virtually the same. Only the look is more radical.
Installation & Compatibility
The conversion is mechanical, but doable – ideally with a stage or workshop.
The forks fit the entire Audi B8, 4G and 4H platform.
So, off we go, remove the bolts at the bottom of the shock absorber and the wishbone, and pull the shock absorber mount down. Then, put our shorter Drøpd DropForks on and tighten everything down again. We also recommend removing the ride height sensor to avoid damage.
Important NOTE
To ensure consistent height front and rear, you should also remove the original bump stops on the rear axle during this step. These are located directly on the damper rod and can be easily removed with a utility knife. There's also a white plastic ring underneath the bump stop. It's best to hold this with pliers and cut it out with a handsaw.
This is the only way to ensure that your vehicle is positioned neatly and evenly – both front and rear.
This is what it looks like:
